julie (a yap challenge student stuck with an IG account that wasn't budging) sent me the following screenshot after going through the yap challenge, and i knew i had to let her tell the story herself. rather than paraphrase, i'm handing her my email ...take it away.

I used to think I was "okay" at Instagram. Not the best. Not the worst. Stuck at 17k followers for about 5 years with zero growth. (ok i was fooling myself clearly).

One of my clients Lynette, loved to remind me that I needed to work on my account... she would send me referrals but warn her audience in advance about the state of my IG account. I believe horrible was the word she used. 🙄

She would say, "Julie I tell them how cool you are, they go to your account, watch a few random videos and come back and go .... really? her?!"

Okay fine. Point taken.

So when Jessi launched the Yap Challenge, I bought it INSTANTLY. It wasn't just her content on her new channel that sold me, or Lynette's chiding about my account. It was that I'd been following Jessi since 2018 and no matter what, I always clicked on that woman's posts and stories (this was back in the days of her binge eating and recovery IG account).

Jessi's account was addictive.

• She was one of the few accounts I would look up and search to see if I'd missed anything.
• She was one of the few accounts I noticed when she stopped posting.

You know how people say "Don't worry if you drop off the app and come back, no one will notice?" Not Jessi. I noticed.

If I was going to finally shape up my social media game, I would learn from her.

I bought it. Then didn't touch it for a bit. I missed the live kick off and the first couple of days.

But then... then... oh my goodness, Jessi shouted me out as her business coach behind the scenes. Holy crap, I needed to step.it.up.stat. 😅 After being WILDLY inconsistent on social, I didn't want to let her referral and word go to waste so I logged into Circle, said a little prayer, clicked on a random daily drop and dare, and began.

I watched the video. Read the prompts. Ideas immediately started flowing. Posted quickly. And by the way, the post I put up wasn't a talking head video and had multiple spelling errors.

And holy sh*t.

The post popped.

Now... yes, she had reposted ONE single solitary reel of mine on her stories, but stories only last 24 hours and then they are gone.

I saw maybe 3000 plus followers in that 24 hour period. The more important question was: Once people were on my account, could I keep them interested? Could I be consistent? Could I avoid the same trap I fell into with Lynette's followers who didn't believe her when she sent people to come hang out on my feed?

Turns out the answer was yes. Every post since I started actually doing the Yap Challenge has performed dramatically better than anything I'd been posting before. Likes, comments, engagement, followers, saves. Ideas are flowing. Reels are easier. Followers have continued to rack up long after that story expired. The crash outs I had before about trying to think of something to post when I'd rather be buried in my hoodie? Gone.

I tell every single client of mine to buy it. That's how much it helped me.
